Novant Trionix transparent iron oxide pigments

Excellent transparency and weather fast colors for interior and exterior use

The Novant Trionix range comprises a comprehensive portfolio of yellow, red and brown transparent iron oxide pigments. All production is rigorously controlled, with thorough quality control procedures maintained at all times, ensuring both quality consistency and product excellence.

Trionix pigments generate exceptional levels of transparency and durability, combined with excellent chemical stability and ultraviolet absorption properties. Coveted for their heavy-duty weather fastness, heat-resistance and strength in UV radiation absorption; the Novant Trionix range represents an attractive product solution for a wide range of applications.

Being inorganic, non bleeding and non migratory, Trionix pigments consistently yield superior results in both solvent and water borne systems. These essential properties make Trionix pigments the perfect solution for most applications including wood finishes, artist colors, industrial coatings, plastics, cosmetics and automotive paints.

UV absorption

Transparent iron oxide pigments are effective absorbers of ultraviolet radiation, providing essential protection to resins and many substrates. The inclusion of these pigments, even at low levels, ensures significant protection against degradation resulting from UV exposure.

Stability

Both acid and alkali resistant, Trionix pigments demonstrate outstanding weather fastness and gloss retention qualities. Yellow iron oxides exhibit thermal stability of approximately 160oC.Red grades, being a dehydrated form of yellow iron oxides, having undergone a calcination process at low temperatures, display higher thermal stability of around 300oC.

Health and safety

As colorants, the production process for Trionix iron oxide pigments conform to the requirements of Council of Europe AP(89)1 for polymers in contact with food; and EN71 Part 3 specification for use in toys at typical pigmentation levels; and with FDA Regulations 21 CFR Sections 73.1200, 73.2250, 175.300, 177.2600, 178.3297.
